Kaduna — Former House of Representatives member, Hon. Shehu Bawa ABG, has joined prominent Nigerians in commending the Federal University of Technology, Minna, for conferring an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Agriculture on the Governor of Niger State, Mohammed Umaru Bago.
The recognition celebrates his remarkable contributions to agricultural development.
In a statement, Hon. Shehu ABG described the honor as a testament to Governor Bago’s effective interventions and dedication to developing the agricultural sector in Niger State, aimed at achieving food sufficiency and affordability.
He noted that the Governor’s initiatives on food security and the adoption of hybrid farming methods have positioned Niger State as Nigeria’s new agricultural hub, expressing confidence in the state’s potential to become a leading contributor to the nation’s food supply.
“A golden fish indeed has no hiding place. Our amiable Governor continues to receive accolades and honors from individuals and organizations in recognition of his innovative strides, which have positively transformed the agricultural sector in Niger State,” said ABG.
He highlighted the recent award from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, as further evidence of Governor Bago’s efforts in bringing farmers closer to the government and ensuring they have the necessary support for food production.
“Bago inherited significant security challenges that prevented farmers from accessing their farmlands, posing a major threat to food security. He swiftly collaborated with security agencies and key stakeholders to reverse the situation.”
“By God’s grace, the proactive and God-fearing Governor’s efforts have yielded positive results, as evidenced by the unprecedented boost in agriculture across the Power State,” he added.
“It is my honor and pleasure to be associated with such an achiever and exemplary son of his people, who has made us proud.”
“May God continue to guide and protect you as you achieve even greater milestones in service to your state and the country at large,” Hon. Shehu ABG concluded.
