Poise, British Council boost business communication

Nigeria’s premier Personality and Image Consulting organisation, Poise Nigeria, in collaboration with the British Council, has launched the APTIS Assessment System in Nigeria, a new tool designed to enhance business communication and English Language proficiency in the workplace.
The APTIS system, a product of the British Council, was designed to evaluate a person’s English skills across all levels, providing organisations with a comprehensive understanding of their workforce’s communication abilities.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, the Founder and Executive Vice Chairperson of Poise Nigeria, Mavi Isibor, stressed the importance of effective communication in the business world.
Citing the dire consequences of poor communication, Isibor pointed to statistics from the Harvard Business Review that revealed companies with over 100,000 employees lose an estimated $62.4 million annually due to miscommunication.
Isibor explained that the APTIS system is more than just an assessment tool, adding that it serves as a stepping stone to a new era of communication excellence in the workplace.
She added, “As demand for our communication programmes continues to soar, we are excited to take our offerings to the next level with APTIS. More than just a certified assessment system, APTIS is a powerful catalyst for transformation.
“By providing a comprehensive evaluation of English language skills, a key ingredient for business communication, APTIS empowers your employees to pinpoint areas for improvement, track their progress, and unlock exciting new opportunities.
We are confident that APTIS will be a game-changer for our clients, helping them achieve their goals and reach new heights. Our partnership with the British Council is built on a shared vision of promoting communication excellence and business cultural exchange.”
The Director of Examinations in Nigeria for the British Council, Deep Adhikari, in his remarks, assured that APTIS remains a great tool for businesses and would create opportunities for better livelihood.
In his closing remarks, the Managing Director of Poise Nigeria, Temitope Oluwaseyi called on corporate organisations in Nigeria to integrate APTIS into their employee training and development programmes.
“We cannot compete in a global marketplace without employees who possess the necessary communication skills,” Oluwaseyi noted.
