  • Davido’s Baby Mamas and Children

    Davido’s Baby Mamas and Children

Nigerian Afrobeat gem Davido had advanced in several dimensions to attain a highly profiled status, attributed to his rare unique qualities and energy.

From the point of consistency, he holds a great barrier to greatness, overcoming what seemed to be a toll of efficient reach to success. To date, he did not only breach unexpected feats but also effortlessly reformed his influence, attracting every good peak at all aspects, including women.

From this view, he would dine with multiple women, with most resorting to be the mother of his children. Despite recently tying the knot with Chioma Avril, Davido embodies the profile with one of the Nigerian music stars with the most Baby Mamas, welcoming five children from different women, most identified as his Baby Mamas.

The Nigerian music maestro also has embraced his fatherhood, locking in with his responsibility, providing for his children most often at a higher rank.

    Davido’s Baby Mamas and children

    Sophia Momodu

Sophia Momodu is the first Baby Mama of Davido and the mother of his first child Imade Adeleke.

The two linked up at the early phase of Davido’s career. While the exact date the two met can’t be accurately determined, Davido’s slight relationship with Sophia Momodu resulted in an outcome that would change their lives.

In 2015, the two indulged in a heated clash after Davido battled for a DNA clarification. Despite accepting his fatherhood responsibility, Davido and Sophia  Momodu battled for child custody, which spanned for years.

Relationship between Davido and Sophia Momodu has overly been tagged offensive and cruel, following how they can’t maintain a rigid bond. However, the two would settle their dispute in 2020, dating until 2022 when they reintroduced their child custody battle.

Sophia momodu insisted that Davido should conform to her one sided custody, featuring responsibilities attributed to multi-million tasks. Davido in the other view wants equal rights to legal child custody. This rested in the both parents agreeing on their personal choices. Currently, the two don’t even share a mother and father relationship for their child again after Davido refused to conform to Sophia’s request.

Davido will have to wait until Imade Adeleke turn 18 before he can set his eyes on her again per several sources. This is to counter on Sophia Momodu’s obliged child custody. In the other view, Sophia has also vowed to keep Imade away from Davido if he will not abide to her request.

Despite the view of this, Davido still make effort to deploy his father’s love to Imade as seen in her recent birthday celebration.

    Amanda

The Atlanta based lady Amanda became Davido’s official second Baby Mama after welcoming his second child and daughter  Hailey Adeleke.

Amanda is identified as Davido’s most composed Baby Mama following how she didn’t impose drama with the singer.

Per several sources, the “Gobe” crooner was dating Amanda secretly until it yielded a fruitful outcome in 2017 after she became pregnant. They would split and maintain parental relationship after welcoming Hailey. Hailey Veronica Adeleke was welcomed on 9th May 2017.

With possible marital rumours at its peak, Amanda pubicly debunked and confirmed she will not be marrying Davido, maintaining that they are no longer romantically inclined. However, unlike Sophia Momodu, the two maintains a rigid parental relationship because of their daughter, Hailey Adeleke. Also, Davido has made most of his responsibilities, providing for Hailey when needed.

    Chioma Rowland Avril

While Chioma Rowland Avril was the third woman to have Davido’s child, she is now married to the singer.

The highly profiled Chef met Davido in 2013 while both schooled at Babcock University. According to Davido, he approached Chioma commonly as every men does even before the fame but she didn’t offer to confide with his feelings until 2015 when they officially started dating.

Their relationship would be on and off until it stablised after they welcomed their now deceased son Ifeanyi Adeleke, who emerged to be Davido’s third child.

Tragically, Ifeanyi Adeleke’s death triggered even an advanced view of mixed feelings. Perhaps, the two love birds utilised their emotion into marital context. Davido and Chioma Rowland Avril tied the knot on 24th June 2024 after they had secretly indulged in a court wedding.

Meanwhile after their court wedding in 2023, Davido and Chioma welcomed their twin, confirmed a boy and a girl. However, their identity are yet to be known to the public.

Davido and Chioma’s relationship hasn’t been overly stable from the past years but the two has reformed their understanding welcoming three children, including deceased Ifeanyi Adeleke and tying the knot.

    Larrisa London

Larrisa London is the official fourth Baby Mama of Davido and the mother of his second son, Dawson Adeleke.

The UK based makeup artist linked up with Davido at a nightclub club in America. They romantically linked up, yielding their son, Dawson Adeleke who was welcomed in 2020.

As expected, Davido wouldn’t accept Dawson seemingly without a slight controversy. This involved a paternity saga between the Makeup artist and the Nigerian singer.

When Dawson was welcomed in 2020, with all fingers directed at Davido, he didn’t publicly accept Dawson rather he blocked Larrisa. However, a proven DNA test swerved his instinct. Still he didn’t acknowledge him pubicly until 2022 when he announced having another son Dawson. In 2023, Davido also acknowledged Dawson during an interview where he announced to the world he had a son with a makeup artist.

Regardless, Larrisa has maintained a serious parental relationship with Davido, adding to the numbers of his women affairs.

Since his first glance to fatherhood with Sophia Momodu transpired and welcoming, Imade Adeleke, the Afrobeat singer has welcomed six children, including his deceased son Ifeanyi Adeleke.

Meanwhile, away from his official women, including his wife, Davido has faced multiple paternity saga that has remained active to date. Enormous number of women has accused him of being the father of their children. However, Davido has denied all claims with many resisting to succumb to reality. One of the recent accuser was an American model who claimed Davido impregnated her and forced her to abort it. She admitted to have had multiple affairs with the singer.

  • Just in: EFCC releases VeryDarkMan after five days in detention

Just in: EFCC releases VeryDarkMan after five days in detention

Social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

His lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, confirmed the development exclusively to Vanguard in Abuja on Wednesday.

VDM’s release marks the end of a detention that sparked protests and reignited debates over freedom of speech in Nigeria.

Providing insight into the conditions of VDM’s release, Adeyanju told Vanguard: “VDM has been released. I undertook to produce him whenever he is required by the Commission or the court. I must say that the EFCC, particularly the chairman, Ola Olukoyede, was cooperative throughout this process, and for that, I am grateful.”

Adeyanju’s remarks suggest a collaborative approach between VDM’s legal team and the EFCC, resulting in a resolution that avoided further escalation.

VDM was arrested on May 2, 2025, at a GTBank branch in Abuja while addressing unauthorized deductions from his mother’s account. According to his lawyers, EFCC operatives detained him after he was briefly held at the bank’s exit door. However, CCTV footage later revealed that the arrest actually occurred in the car park.

The incident sparked protests in Abuja, with demonstrators chanting slogans like “Free VDM” and “Activism is not a crime.” Online support swelled as many viewed the detention as an attempt to silence a prominent critic of the government. Protesters also directed their anger at GTBank, accusing the institution of complicity—an allegation the bank has denied.

VDM has previously faced legal challenges, including charges of cyberstalking and impersonation involving the Nigeria Police Force in 2024. He is also entangled in defamation cases, notably a ₦1 billion lawsuit from Bobrisky and a court order related to remarks made about gospel singer Mercy Chinwo—all of which contribute to his controversial public image.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale had earlier stated that VDM would be released once bail conditions were satisfied.

As of press time on Wednesday, no formal charges had been filed, raising further questions about the legal grounds for his detention and its implications for his activism.

I’m broke, yet accused of money laundering – VDM breaks silence after EFCC release

Popular social activist Martins Otse, widely known as Verydarkman, has spoken out following his release from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a viral video making rounds on social media, Verydarkman is seen seated in a car alongside his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.

Speaking directly to the camera, he expressed disbelief over the charges of money laundering brought against him, questioning why such accusations would be directed at someone who is not wealthy.

“How would they level allegations of money laundering on someone who doesn’t have money? I have done so many charity, they wonder how, they don’t know I use debt for charity,” he said.

He concluded, adding, “Anyway, we are outside, with my lawyer of course.”

  • Rapper The Game to sell California mansion to pay $7m assault judgment

Rapper The Game to sell California mansion to pay $7m assault judgment

Rapper The Game has been ordered to sell his Calabasas mansion to help satisfy a $7.1 million judgment awarded to Priscilla Rainey.

Court documents show that a judge approved the sale of the property in order to cover a portion of the $7,130,100 Rainey won in a 2018 lawsuit.

The court’s decision was based on legal standards concerning homestead exemptions and creditor liens. As the documents explain: “If the proposed sale of the dwelling is likely to produce a bid high enough to satisfy the homestead exemption and any outstanding liens or encumbrances senior to the judgment creditor’s lien while still leaving some amount available to satisfy even a ‘part’ of the judgment creditor’s lien, then the court must grant the application for sale.”

In other words, if the sale of the property can generate funds to cover senior debts and still leave something for the creditor, the court must allow the sale.

    The Legal Battle

Rainey originally sued The Game in 2015, alleging he sexually assaulted her during filming of the VH1 reality show She Got Game. Rather than fully engaging in the court proceedings, The Game missed several court dates, which led the judge to issue a default ruling in Rainey’s favor.

By July 2023, U.S. District Judge Mark C. Scarsi issued a notice of levy and writ of execution against The Game and his manager, Wack 100. The order alleged that The Game transferred ownership of the mansion to Wack 100 in an attempt to shield it from Rainey’s collection efforts. In October, the rapper was ordered to appear in court to justify why the mansion should not be sold.

The property is currently listed on the market for $4 million. If it sells at that price, The Game would still owe Rainey approximately $3 million.

    Public Reactions and Statements

Despite the court’s rulings, The Game has consistently expressed his refusal to pay Rainey. In 2020, he posted on social media:

“People out here dying from the rona n blogs out here creating false narratives for this Waffle House roach who doing anything her thirsty a## can to try n take money from me. I’m enjoying retirement !! Y’all been saying she got 7 million for 7 years & yet here I am, laid up tipsy off my 5th quarantine watching Tiger King lol.”

Meanwhile, Rainey continued to pursue legal remedies. In 2020, she was awarded ownership of The Game’s Prolific Records label and began collecting royalties from his Born to Rap album.

Adenuga turned 72 on Tuesday. As usual, his admirers and beneficiaries of his many gestures are popping champagne to celebrate the life of a man who transformed the industry, enabling Nigerian entertainers to focus on their craft, while earning a living.

Adenuga has continued to shape Nigeria’s entertainment landscape. Before his intervention, the country’s entertainers struggled to reap financial rewards from their crafts, despite their popularity. But the story changed when Adenuga established his company, Globacom, which provided unwavering support to the enterainters, fostering growth and prosperity in the industry.

Every year, while the Bull, as he is fondly called, marks his birthday, memories of his big heart are relived. His love for the entertainment industry is topnotch. To many, the story of the Nigerian entertainment sector wouldn’t be complete without Adenuga’s name featuring prominently as the biggest spender in the industry.

Over the years, Adenuga’s Globacom has been a frontline supporter of the limelight industry through sponsoring of programmes and corporate endorsements for practitioners of all genres.

If you were privileged to watch the popular comedy TV series,”Professor Johnbul”, which premiered on NTA Network in 2016, and sponsored by Globacom, then you would acknowledge Adenuga Jnr as one name that would continue to resonate with the Nigerian entertainers.

The comedy TV series, which were based on reviving morals in the Nigerian society had six seasons, before it went off air in 2018. But while it lasted, the hilarious series produced by Tchidi Chikere which starred some of Nollywood greats, including legendary Kanayo O. Kanayo, who played the lead role from whom it derived the name Professor Johnbull was one out of several other landmark programmes which were sponsored by Adenuga’s Globacom to boost the entertainment sector.

Industry operators are still engrossed with other entertainment events sponsored by Globacom such as Glo Campus Storm, Glo Rock ‘n’ Rule’; Glo Slide ‘n’ Bounce; Glo Laffta Fest; Glo Mega Music Nationwide Tour, Dance with Peter, Glo X-Factor, and Glo Naija Sings.

Glo Lafta Fest’, which was regarded as the biggest music, dance, and comedy event in Nigeria, brought top-rated African comedians like Bovi, Salvador of Uganda, Basket Mouth, Gordons, I Go Dye, 2Cantok, Seyi Law among others together in one place for an evening of unlimited fun and laughter. Despite his predilection for shunning the limelight, Adenuga reportedly drove himself to the album launch of Paul Play Dairo, a phenomenon in the Nigerian music scene in the late 90s and early 2000s, to the surprise of guests. He was equally there for the veteran musician who took ill in 2009 and had a long break to seek medical attention. Paul Play confessed that he didn’t publicly raise funds because “People like Dr Mike Adenuga were there for me.”

It was the same story when Juju music maestro Ebenezer Obey, who had retired from secular music decades earlier to concentrate on evangelism, needed to undergo eye surgery many years back. Adenuga bankrolled his medical bills abroad. That gesture helped to restore Obey’s health and returned him to musical reckoning. That’s not all, the Globacom boss also blessed the Miliki Exponent with an Escalade SUV.

According to industry sources, when it comes to appreciating movies, Adenuga is always one of the first to have a movie exclusively screened for him and his family in his expansive home cinema. Kunle Afolayan, one of Nigeria’s foremost filmmakers and former Globacom ambassador, had screened a number of his movies for Adenuga in the comfort of his home.

Adenuga’s sustained passion for the showbiz sector didn’t start today. It dated back to 2003, when he established Globacom, and since then, the Bull hasn’t stopped churning out millionaires among the Nigerian entertainers. His belief is that by actively engaging these key entertainment drivers, they in turn can positively impact thousands of others who are working with them and by doing so, help to grow the sector and the economy at large.

For more than two decades, Adenuga has opened his wallet to transform many lives in the entertainment sector. No one has given more than Adenuga as far as the limelight industry is concerned in Nigeria. His contributions to the country’s entertainment sector have been transformative. Adenugua’s commitment to the industry has not only elevated individual careers, but also contributed significantly to the overall development of the sector.

  • You can’t be bigger than the industry that brought you fame, Lancelot calls out Omotola, Genevieve, Jim Iyke, others

You can’t be bigger than the industry that brought you fame, Lancelot calls out Omotola, Genevieve, Jim Iyke, others

Frontline filmmaker and director Lancelot Imasuen, also known as De’ Guvnor, has expressed deep concern and disappointment over some big Nollywood stars abandoning the industry that brought them fame and fortune. As he marks 30 years in Nollywood, Lancelot is calling out stars like Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Genevieve Nnaji, Jim Iyke, and Emeka Ike among others to give back to the industry.

Addressing some of the challenges facing the industry in a chat with our reporter, the celebrated film director lamented that some top stars have disappeared from the big screen and turned their backs on the industry.

Lancelot, however, called out these big stars, stating that they cannot be bigger than the industry that birthed them.

He also lamented the prevailing division, where ‘the old and new Nollywood slogan’ is currently tearing the industry apart, insisting that 30 years ago, every practitioner in the industry evolved at the same time.

“As of 30 years ago, there were nothing like big stars. Everybody evolved. Those who chose to be behind the camera like myself as well as those who wanted to be in front of the camera.

“Nobody looked down on anybody. Everyone respected all that we were called to do with our talents. “But overtime, we have seen Nollywood that birthed great names being bastardized, abandoned and ignored even by those who were nobody then.

“That’s crux of this parley. Where are the  people  that Nollywood birthed?  Some of them have become bigger than the industry that made them.

“I am calling out the Omotolas, the Genevieve’s, the Emeka Ikes and the Jim Iykes. I am also calling out all of them who benefitted from Nollywood to come and give back to the industry.

“We cannot continue to allow the house that gave us a name to sink. Nollywood gave us fortune and fame. How come some of  my colleagues are so comfortable abandoning the platform that groomed them

“I want to be the lone voice crying for Nollywood in the wilderness. Where are the children who were birthed by the industry?,” Lancelot lamented.

Lancelot went down memory lane, recalling how he started his career 30 years ago.

According to him, his journey into Nollywood actually started in 1987, but it got a nod in 1988, after working as an assistant director on a project called “Besotted.”

However, Lancelot began his flourishing career in 1995 after directing his first movie, “Adaku”, an Igbo language movie. And since then, the respected director hasn’t looked back in his quest to stand out in his chosen career.

Lancelot was proud to reveal some of the veterans in the industry who helped to groom him into the art of filmmaking directing. He named the likes of Chris Obirakpo who directed the pioneering film “Living in Bondage” in the 90s, Danlad Bako, former programme manager in NTA headquarters in Lagos, Sadiq Daba,  and Enebeli Elebuwa. He also recalls working briefly as a production assistant in NTA back in time.

“This is my background. These men breathe  into me what is called production. The late Enebeli Elebuwa was the director of a programme called  “Twist Away,” written and produced by Cordilla Eke in NTA. With this experience, I was able to go into the set of ‘Adaku’, an Igbo language film in 1995. Lanelot has made significant contributions to the industry, directing and producing numerous blockbuster movies since his debut film “Adaku in 1995. He recently featured veteran actors including Afeez Oyotoro,Victor Osuagwu,  Charles Awuru, Francis Odega in his movie “Area Command,” showcasing their talents and proving that they still have a place in the industry.

Lancelot’s call for big stars to give back to the industry highlights the importance of supporting and nurturing the next generation of Nollywood talent.
