2024 Ranking – Super Eagles Rises to 36th in FIFA October

“With over 6 million views, I don’t take your feedback for granted” – Faithia Williams speaks up on the misconception about her Yet-to-be released movie.

A few days back the film-maker gave a teaser about her upcoming project “Efunroye the Unicorn” in which she described the figure as a warrior queen who defied kings, rewrote history and built her empire, this came as a mixed feeling to Nigerians. Read: Faithia Williams faces backlash from Nigerians As She Promotes Her new project “Efunroye”

The Filmmaker took to her Instagram page to debunk the misconceptions surrounding her upcoming movie, she wrote

MY RESPONSE TO THE REACTIONS TRAILING MY UPCOMING MOVIE, ‘’EFUNROYE TINUBU”
    -Faithia Williams Balogun

The reactions generated by the announcement of my upcoming movie, “Efunroye: The Unicorn,” underscore how passionate we are about our history and our nation, Nigeria. I am deeply thankful to both my loyal fans and non-fans, for the overwhelming support this project receives.

With over six million views on my post, I do not take your support for granted—your interest and feedback are truly appreciated.

However, the passion and emotions surrounding this project (especially on Twitter), while inspiring, have led to some misconceptions that I would like to clarify.

Firstly, “Efunroye: The Unicorn” is not a promotional piece intended to glorify or whitewash a divisive historical figure like Madam Efunroye Tinubu. Nor does it carry any political intent or affiliation. This film is purely a work of artistic interpretation and storytelling. As a filmmaker, my goal is to bring Nigerian stories to life on screen, and this is no exception.

The movie is an attempt to present Madam Tinubu’s life in a balanced and nuanced way, showcasing her triumphs, challenges, and the complex legacy she left behind. It is not an effort to reshape or glorify the historical narrative.

Like all historical figures, Madam Tinubu’s story is layered, and this film aims to capture both her strengths and controversies.

I want to emphasize that “Efunroye: The Unicorn” is first and foremost a creative expression meant to entertain, educate, and spark thoughtful conversations. It is not a documentary or a political statement.

As with any artistic work, it draws from history but also takes creative liberties to make the story more engaging for modern audiences.

I believe that through this film, we can explore important parts of our history, but it is important to understand that it remains a work of fiction inspired by real events.

CBN to start gradual withdrawal of old notes ahead of 31st December deadline – House Of Rep

The Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) has been ordered by the House of Representatives to start the process of circulating the old notes before 31st December which is the deadline.

This has put Nigerians in a state of turmoil, as last year was tough for many Nigerians to secure the new naira notes while other burnt and disposed off their old notes.

In addition, CBN was mandated to release more new, N200, N500 and N1,000 notes.

It is also said by Ogene, that the supreme court ruled and ordered that the old  N200, N500 and N1,000 notes, will cease to be legal tender in Nigeria, and also stop to circulate as of January 1, 2025.

He also showed displeasure with the fact that this wasn’t announced to Nigerians 3 months earlier, to prepare Nigerians, because the last time this happened it caused a hike in the price of goods and litigations last year.

Ogene is the lawmaker and he still went further to show his displeasure about the CBN still releasing the old Naira notes alongside the new naira notes, for day-to-day transactions in Nigeria, rather than gathering the old notes and ceasing to circulate them back to the public, to make it easier for the citizens.

With that statement, the House of Rep decided to ask the Central Bank Of Nigeria to start issuing and circulating the new N200, N500 and N1,000 notes, and gradually cease the withdrawal of old notes in circulation before 31st December which is in 2 months.

    The House of Rep said, “ To urge the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to order commercial banks to forthwith stop cash payment to their customers with old N200, N500 and N1,000 notes but instead, engage in gradual mopping up of the old notes;

“Urge the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN to kick-start awareness programmes for Nigerians to be aware and prepare for the deadline of December 31, 2024.”

  • “It was Discipline” says BBNaija Kassia and KellyRae As they discuss How They Maintained There Game Plan

“It was Discipline” says BBNaija Kassia and KellyRae As they discuss How They Maintained There Game Plan

The BBNaija season 9 winner Kelly Rae and his wife Kassia entered the house as a pair but later the wife got evicted, during a current interview with TVC, they revealed their game plan and how they hid the fact they were married from the housemates.

KellyRae emphasizes the fact that discipline was their important plan. They had to constantly remind themselves that the prize was the important thing and that their stay wasn’t permanent.

The strategy of not revealing their marriage to the housemates was to help them connect better with the other housemates and boost their chances of winning.

KellyRae the winner emphasized more on their plan saying, “First of all, discipline. You have to always remind yourself where you’re coming from and know where you’re going. And in your head, it’s better to remind yourself that it’s just a short period, it’s better to stay dirty for a while than to stay clean for the rest of your life. If we needed to be that way, even if it would have taken us a year, it would have been worth it.

“We would have been able to stay a year. The thing is, when we first got into the house, she wasn’t used to it and she’s very touchy, so I had to remind her not to call me baby. But towards the end, she was the one reminding me to be calm. At different times we had each other’s backs”.

His Wife Kassia also made it known that going on the BBNaija show has been her husband’s (KellyRae) dream for a long time, and thanks to their friend who encouraged them to go after KellyRae was sceptical about auditioning they were accepted.

In her statement, she said, “Going to the house was always his dream and not mine. So for this season, he already made his mind up not to audition because he had tried many times. A friend of his persuaded us and we were surprised that we got picked,”

  • Mavins DJ, Big N defends his boss Don Jazzy about the millions dontated to Bobrisky, also adressing the issue with Oluwadolarz.

Mavins DJ, Big N defends his boss Don Jazzy about the millions dontated to Bobrisky, also adressing the issue with Oluwadolarz.

The Mavins DJ Big N has come out to defend his boss from the bad remarks made by people as to why he will send Bobrisky, a popular Nigerian crossdresser, millions of Naira following his (Bobrisky) release from prison.

Big N made a statement in an already deleted post, talking about how his boss Don Jazzy has no connection with Bobrisky, never spoken or met with him (Bobrisky). He further emphasized that it was a mutual friend who solicited help from Don Jazzy to help the estranged Bobrisky who just returned from prison.

Don Jazzy who is a benevolent man decided to help by donating millions of naira to the crossdresser as he has been helping lots of people in need.

He went further to address the issue with Oluwardolarz, who claimed in his Instagram story that he was asked to engage in gay activities by a certain producer and promoter before he could be helped.

This prompted Music Producer Don Jazzy to make a statement asking him to mention names or he was lying. This prompted many Nigerians to assume that he was the culprit being referred to and that he had issues with Oluwadorlaz.

Big N revealed he was the person who introduced Oluwardolarz and his kid brother to Don Jazzy and there is no issues/beef between the two parties, he also emphasized that the industry is truly funny and what Oluwardolarz said might not be a lie, however, it is right for Don Jazzy to want to apprehend the perpetrators as a Music producer himself, so names should be mentioned to help that motive.

Big N said and I quote, ” This social media sha . I always say, make the good wey person Dey do no turn to bad. I can 100% tell you that Don Jazzy has never met Bobrisky before; he Has never spoken to him before; he doesn’t have his number, and neither does Bobrisky have Jazzy’s. A mutual friend of Bob’s came out to raise funds when he came out of jail and reached out to Jazzy to donate. Out of the benevolence of his heart, he donated. Just like he has done uncountable times for people he doesn’t know from Adam. That never made it to the internet.

As for Oluwa dollars. I was the person who introduced him to Jazzy. He and his little bro.

There’s no beef. In a society where narratives are thrown around about reaching the top in music through sexual favors, especially artists and label bosses, it’s only right for him to want to oust these perpetrators from the game by first identifying them. Let’s not also rule out people who cry wolf to promote a song or an agenda. Notice the said person decided to push a song the very next day. Sometimes, make we Dey use our heads to think. It’s not only for headbutting people. Shalom”.

Pardon My False Allegations – Halima Abubakar begs Apostle Johnson Suleman

This case dates back to 2022 during the time the actress became bedridden after her issues with the pastor, her family members brought it to social media asking him to stay away from their daughter.

The issues escalated in 2023 when the actress came out to make bigger claims that she had been pregnant with Suleman’s child 5 times. Being an apostle, this made a huge dent in his image.

As expected, Suleman sued her in court for “defamatory statements” and in April, the federal high court of Abuja favoured Apostle Suleman, giving orders to Halima Abubakar to pay the damages of N10 million for defamation.

Fast forward to a statement she made on her Instagram page on Wednesday, she begged for the apostle’s forgiveness, expressing her regrets for damaging his image and all the false allegations she made about him. She further emphasized that the apology and remorse are motivated by deep reflection and conscience.

On her Instagram page, she wrote and I quote, “I am writing to you today to acknowledge the falsehoods I made against you on social media and to offer my sincerest apologies. After deep reflection, and for my conscience to be in accord with God, I have realized the depth of the harm, pains and distress caused by my lies”

She further continues, “I admit that I made false allegations against you; and also regret my actions and the damage I caused to you, your wife, Dr Mrs Lizzy Suleman, your family, and the Leaders of the Omega Fire Ministry”.

The concluding part further reads, “With this letter, I humbly ask for your forgiveness, recognizing that my apology cannot undo the harm, pain and distress I caused and I ask you to find a place in your heart to forgive me as I was not thinking right then. Sir, you have done a lot for humanity, please, extend your hands of forgiveness toward me.
Once again, Sir, I am truly sorry for all the hurt and distress I caused you, your family, and your ministry.
Thank you very much and may the Heavens calm your heart. God bless you, Sir”.
