Air Peace pledges free evacuation, medicals for trafficked Nigerian girls in Ivory Coast

xAir Peace has promised to bring back the trafficked underaged Nigerian girls from Ivory Coast, and also give them free medical care.

Allen Onyema, the airline’s Chairman, made the announcement in a statement. He called for collective efforts to discourage trafficking, emphasising its inhumane and ungodly nature.

Recall that activist, VeryDarkMan (Martins Vincent Otse), raised the alarm over the underaged Nigerian girls trafficked to Ivory Coast.

Reacting, Air Peace boss, Onyema, offered free flight back home and medical care for the Nigerian girls.

He “expressed deep concern and condemnation over the recent discovery of Nigerian underaged girls trafficked to Ivory Coast”.

    ‘We will bring them home’

Onyema said: “We should discourage trafficking of any kind. It is inhumane and callous. It is absolutely ungodly and a good example of man’s inhumanity to man.

“We, in Air Peace, are ready to bring our fellow citizens back home free off charge.

“Besides that, we are going to send all of them to Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja for free medical examination and treatment.

“While we implore the Nigerian Embassy in Cote D’Ivoire to assemble them and reach out to us, we equally call on the Federal Government to take charge of their education while reuniting them with their families.”

  • Nigerians have no business being poor, says Obasanjo

Nigerians have no business being poor, says Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that Nigerians have no business being poor with the country’s vast resources.

He said that the nation is abundantly blessed but is suffering from the mismanagement of its resources.

Obasanjo said this at a dinner organised in his honour by Abia Government on Friday at the Government House, Umuahia.

He said: “Nigerians have no business with poverty because God has given us all that we need.

“If we are mismanaging what God has given us, we do not have God to blame, we have ourselves to blame.”

The former president praised the efforts of Gov. Alex Otti of Abia in transforming the state, noting the wide public acclaim of his administration’s performance.

He affirmed the governor’s impact on governance in the state and urged him to continue to do well.

Obasanjo added that if Nigeria had 18 governors doing well in their responsibilities as leaders, “we will build the country up”.

He reiterated his concern in the well-being of Nigerians and the quality of governance they receive.

“For me, whether you don’t greet me or I greet you and you don’t answer, what is important to me is that the people of this country are getting what they deserve and what they deserve is good governance,” he said.

Obasanjo recalled an earlier advisory he gave former Minister of Transport, Mr Rotimi Amaechi, during his tenure in office.

He said that Amaechi was not aware of a pre-existing national railway development plan and had to be directed to the archives to find it.

“I believe that even if you don’t like me if I have pieces of advice to give you, as I did when you were Minister for Transport, I will give the advice.

“You didn’t know that we had a national plan for railway for this country, to reach every state capital as we have them now and I told you to go into the archives, it is there.

“But again, I believe as Minister of Transport, you got a bit of it right, you got a bit of it wrong.”

In his speech, the governor acknowledged the support he received from the former president.

He said that the importance of vision and perseverance in leadership could never be overlooked, recounting the challenges he faced over his decade-long political journey.

“Once you have vision, you have to keep to it. It took us ten years to get here, the two elections we contested from 2015 to 2019, we won clearly but they were all stolen.

“A lot of people had given up hope and said it wasn’t going to work, but I was sure that I heard clearly from God,” he said.

He said his administration had embarked on massive reforms in the education sector to improve access to quality education in Abia.

Also, Amaechi called on political actors in Abia to begin early preparations for the 2027 general elections.

According to him, the value of a good administration was often only realised after a less competent one takes over.

He pointed out that this had become the experience with many former leaders, but Obasanjo had continually stood out because of his visionary leadership style.

“In your case, no matter who becomes president, you have always stood out,” Amaechi said.

He described quality leadership as crucial for development and in order not to experience its absence, the people of Abia must support capable leaders like Otti in the next elections.

“APC and other parties are already mobilising, if we don’t prepare now, we may lose out completely.

“We must not only protect what we have but also ensure that we come back in 2028 to celebrate true democratic success,” he added.

In separate speeches, the lawmaker representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Chief Ginger Onwusibe and the acting National Secretary of Labour Party, Sen. Darlington Nwokocha, expressed delight in being part of Abia’s success story.

They thanked  Obasanjo for his continued support for the Otti-led administration and commended the governor for the equitable developmental strides across all local government areas. (NAN)

US charges man with Trump assassination threat

A US man posting content online as “Mr Satan” has been charged with threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump and other government officials, the Department of Justice announced Friday.

Shawn Monper, 32, was detained and charged in a federal criminal complaint with “making threats to assault and murder” Trump and other US officials, including Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

In a statement, the DOJ said the FBI received an emergency message about threats posted on YouTube by a user who identified himself as “Mr Satan,” whose internet activity was determined to correspond with Monper’s residence.

Monper is coincidentally from Butler, Pennsylvania where Trump was nearly assassinated during a campaign rally in July.

Shortly after Trump’s inauguration in January, Monper obtained a firearms permit and commented from his account that he had “bought several guns and been stocking up on ammo since Trump got in office,” the DOJ said.

On February 17 he wrote: “Nah, we just need to start killing people, Trump, Elon, all the heads of agencies Trump appointed, and anyone who stands in the way,” referring to Trump’s billionaire advisor Elon Musk.

“Remember, we are the majority, MAGA is a minority of the country, and by the time its time to make the move, they will be weakened, many will be crushed by these policies, and they will want revenge too. American Revolution 2.0,” he said, according to the DOJ.

Then on March 4, in a YouTube video titled “Live: Trump’s address to Congress,” Monper said he was “going to assassinate him myself,” the DOJ added.

Monper hails from Butler township, scene of a shooting last July 13 that nearly took Trump’s life, when a would-be assassin’s bullet grazed the Republican’s ear at an outdoor campaign rally. One person was killed and three were injured.

“Rest assured that whenever and wherever threats of assassination or mass violence occur, this Department of Justice will find, arrest, and prosecute the suspect to the fullest extent of the law and seek the maximum appropriate punishment,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said in the statement.

A detention hearing is scheduled for April 14.

The Police Command in Lagos State says it is investigating the explosion that occurred inside a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera dealer shop in Ikeja.

The command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known in a statement on Saturday in Lagos.

He said that the incident happened on Friday at 6:35 p.m. at Kodesho Street at Computer Village in the Ikeja area of the state.

“The scene of the explosion and adjoining areas were immediately taken over and cordoned off by operatives of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit of the command, the Mobile Police Detachment and Conventional Police Teams.

“The scene was swept by the EOD experts of the command to ensure the safety of residents and facilitate a comprehensive investigation to determine the actual cause of the explosion,” he said.

The image maker said that the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Olohundare Jimoh, arrived at the scene within minutes for an on-the-spot assessment.

“While investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the explosion and other factors that might have caused the incident, the CP urges Lagos residents to remain calm and not to panic.

  • Visit Borno’-ex-state commissioner, Kareto challenges Tinubu’s minister

Visit Borno’-ex-state commissioner, Kareto challenges Tinubu’s minister

A Chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC and former Commissioner of Trade, Commerce and Industry, Hon.Yerima Lawan Kareto has extended an invitation to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris to find time, come to Borno and follow him to Damasak, the Council Headquarters of Mobbar local government area alone.

Kareto who hails from Damasak, hitherto a liberated border town with Niger Republic and about 190.5km drive from Maiduguri, the state capital said, he will personally drive the Minister through the thick and thin, so as to see things for himself, before making any statement on the increasing renewed Boko Haram onslaught across the region.

Recall last Tuesday at the end of an Expanded Security Council Meeting comprised of Heads of Security agencies, traditional rulers and other stakeholders in Maiduguri, Governor Babagana Zulum, who chaired the important and timely meeting suggested that the state may be losing control to Boko Haram insurgents, due to the renewed Boko Haram attacks which have so far killed many lives as well as dislodged Military Formations in Wulgo, Sabon Gari, Wajirko, Izge among others.

However, in a press statement issued to Journalists on Wednesday signed by the Minister, Idris disagreed with Zulum’s claim. The minister emphasised that the administration remains committed to combating terrorism and banditry across the nation.

He argued that the security agencies are working round-the-clock to bring the situation in parts of Borno and other states under control.

The Minister’s statement attracted wider public condemnations. Although, a day after (Thursday 10th April 2025), the minister’s media aide, Rabiu Ibrahim ‘back- pedalled’ and described the report credited to his Boss as “categorically false and a gross distortion of the minister’s remarks.”

Ibrahim stressed that, at no point did the minister say, “Ignore Zulum, Boko Haram has not taken over Borno.”

However, reacting in a press statement signed by Hon. Kareto, a copy which was made available to our Correspondent at the week end, the former Borno Commissioner said, such terse statement from the Minister’s Media aide alleging that he (the Minister) was misquoted, is not enough, but inviting Idris to Borno would also avail him the opportunity to personally tender apology to Government and the good people of Borno.

Kareto expressed shock at the Minister who sits at his comfort zone in Abuja and be dishing out statement himself or through his media aide on the subject matter. He insisted that such back -pedalling tactics were not enough to make Government and the good people of Borno believe that he (Minister Idris) was actually misquoted.

“Let me informed the Minister that such statement is not enough to cool the high tensions raised on the resilient Borno people who have trust and confidence on Governor Babagana Zulum’s good governance, this can be attested to numerous people oriented projects and the unrelenting support in cash and kind to security agencies since 2019 to date.

“Minister Idris have to come to Borno under my personal invitation to follow me to Damasak. This would avail him the opportunity to tender an unreserved apology and to tell Nigerians whether Governor Zulum, the Shehu Of Borno, Dr. Abubakar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi and other security agencies who deliberated extensively on the renewed attacks, were all better informed that Borno is losing ground to terrorists or not”.

Kareto who said Borno people stood firmly and in solidarity at all times to the present administration, urges Governor Zulum and the security agencies, especially the troops in the frontline not to be deterred by the Minister’s outburst, but remain committed and focused in the fight against the renewed killings and other criminalities bedevilling many communities in the state

  • Gabon holds first presidential election since 2023 coup

Gabon holds first presidential election since 2023 coup

Gabonese voters began casting ballots on Saturday in a presidential election with eight candidates that is widely expected to make junta chief Brice Oligui Nguema the oil-rich central African country’s first elected leader since his 2023 coup.

Oligui, the general who led the August 30, 2023, putsch that ended 55 years of iron-fisted dynastic rule by the Bongo family, who were accused of looting Gabon’s wealth, has been leading in opinion polls.

Snaking queues were seen outside polling stations in Libreville, the seaside capital.

Aurele Ossantanga Mouila, 30, voted for the first time ever after finishing his shift as a croupier in a casino.

“I did not have confidence in the earlier regime,” he said.

Oligui took the role of transitional president while overseeing the formation of a government that includes civilians, tasked with drawing up a new constitution.

The country of 2.3 million people is casting ballots at a time of high unemployment, regular power and water shortages, a lack of infrastructure and heavy government debt.

Despite successive plans, only 2,000 of the 10,000 kilometres (6,213 miles) of roads in the country are “usable”, according to official data. Derailments are frequent on the sole rail link and youth unemployment exceeds 60 percent in rural areas.

Oligui ditched his military uniform as he campaigned for a seven-year term against seven rivals, including Alain-Claude Bilie By Nze, who served as prime minister under Ali Bongo before the coup.

    – ‘The special candidate’ –

Around 920,000 voters are eligible to cast their ballots from 7:00 am (0600 GMT), with the polling stations closing at 6:00 pm and final results expected on Monday.

Oligui has predicted a “historic victory” in the election.

“The builder is here, the special candidate, the one you called,” Oligui said Thursday among the music and dancing at his closing rally in the capital Libreville.

But critics accuse Oligui, who had promised to hand power back to civilians, of failing to move on from the years of plunder of the country’s vast mineral wealth under the Bongos, whom he served for years.

Oligui’s image has been plastered all over the capital Libreville alongside his campaign slogan “C’BON” — a play on the French words for “It’s good” and the junta chief’s initials — while those of his rivals are nowhere to be seen.

Bilie By Nze, his main opponent, has cast himself as the candidate for a “complete rupture”.

He has accused Oligui, who led the Republican Guard in the Bongo years, of representing a continuity of the old system.

Oligui served as patriarch Omar Bongo’s former aide-de-camp before becoming chief of the presidential guard under his son Ali Bongo.

    – ‘Transparent ballot’ –

Whoever wins will have to meet the high hopes of a country where one in three people lives below the poverty line despite its vast resource wealth, according to the World Bank.

Gabon’s debt rose to 73.3 percent of GDP last year and is projected to reach 80 percent this year.

Analyst Neyer Kenga likewise pointed to “the return to constitutional order” as one of the key campaign issues, in the hope the vote puts an end to the country’s strife.

In the past weeks, the interior ministry has been at pains to insist Saturday’s vote will be “a transparent ballot and an election accessible” to all.

“Today all Gabonese are firmly in favour of a democratic game that is played within the rules,” said Neyer Kenga.

Following years marked by a post-vote crisis in 2009 and 2016’s bloodily repressed protests — not to mention the August 2023 coup — “the people’s response at the ballot box is never known in advance”, she added.

  • Why some men drool over fat women!

Why some men drool over fat women!

If you believe that it’s only svelte women that grab all the good-looking men, leaving the unsavoury ones to fat women, you are wrong! More than ever before, women with more bounce-to-the-ounce, are being encouraged to flaunt what they have.  All over the world, there have also been beauty pageants specially designed for voluptuous women.

Afterall there are lots of men that salivate over fleshy women.  Like Kay, for instance.  A friend of several years, he’d always been full of praises for them.

“It is really exciting when a well-endowed woman gets undressed when you’re in the room.  The sight of very fleshy boobs tumbling free from the bra always want me to bury my head between her cleavage.

“Heaven! Tumbling free from the bra,” he whooped, rubbing his hands with glee.

Susan doesn’t joke with her food in spite of the size 24 figure. She was the brunt of cruel jibes when she was in school.

“But when I entered university, I didn’t really give a hoot about my figure”, she told me. “By this time, I’d had a handful of boyfriends. One actually said he loved me until I was eventually dumped because, according to him, people always point and stare at you when we go out.”
Simply put, he thought I was an embarrassment.  What a kick in the teeth!  What did I do?  I reverted to sweet, fattening food for comfort.  And put on more weight.

“When I discovered that there were some girls fatter than me, with tons of confidence on campus, I forgot my inhibitions. So, when I met this skinny man at a party who said I was gorgeous, I didn’t shrink back.

“His name was Phil and his sincere compliments won me over in an instant.  It was the first of many feel-good phrases he heaped on me and I lapped it up.  We became intimate almost immediately and he couldn’t have enough of me. ‘I like the feeling of a woman in control’, he told me, ‘and I love big women and their beautiful fat flesh squashing me.  Skinny girls are just bony and full of themselves while you are amazing.  You care about me, not selfish about your looks!”

In case you haven’t noted, there is an increase in demand for big women in recent years.  And the service they offer include ‘squashing’. According to Jenny, a fat happy Londoner, “I was seriously contemplating getting a gastric band to curb my obesity and researching the options opened to me on the internet when I noticed the BBW site – Big Beautiful Women.

I clicked on it and found a website with pictures of fat women posing in lovely dresses and even their undies.  And they were bigger than me.  In other words, while I’d spent my adult years cowering and lacking in confidence, the women looked happy and proud.  And male admirers were sending them adoring messages.  It was like I’d stumbled into a magical new world where obese women were goddesses, their curves worshipped.

“It was through the site that I learnt that lots of men love having a big woman sit on them. Such women are called squashers. I’d never heard of such a thing, but I read how some men craved the feel of a big women in sexy lingerie pining down their body.  It was seen to be erotic and relaxing.  And what was more exciting was, the site explained, a lot of demands for squashers in Britain.

As ridiculous as it sounded, I decided to give it a go. Before I could change my mind, I put a snap of me in sexy lingerie on the site and was amazed at the response. The site explained that squashers were not prostitutes and couldn’t be groped by the squashee. And as many squashes loved eating too, I could be treated to scrumptious meals before dates.

“When I finally met a prospective squashee, I was relieved he didn’t look like a pervert.  As a matter of fact, he was a shy businessman, slim and middle aged.  Later in bed, I took off my dress and he lay on the bed, and feeling really self-conscious. I lowered my big bottom unto his chest.  It was a big scary putting all my weight on his skinny ribs.  ‘I’m not breaking any bones am I?”, I teased him.  He managed to shake his head while I straddled him, bending down to press my cleavage against his face.  He seemed to be enjoying it.

“He told me honestly that I was gorgeous.  It felt so good to be appreciated.  Later, when we’d known each other a while, he confessed that, ‘I feel strong and masculine because I’m bearing your weight.  Yet I feel dominated too – when you sit on me.  I can’t even breath freely until you stand up”.  It was as if by being helpless, they found freedom.

“A lot saw my big squashy body as motherly and comforting…”

Talk about being a lucky star shining brightly above for everyone.  When I discussed Jenny’s experience, with Susan she found it amusing.  “I haven’t had that kind of adventure yet. For now, I’m happy to be big, proud, curvy and confident I don’t need to pack my bum on any man’s chest to be sexually fulfilled”.

  • Carry your cross, Sen Orji fires back at Ikpeazu

Carry your cross, Sen Orji fires back at Ikpeazu

UMUAHIA – Former Governor of Abia State, Senator Theodore Orji, has fired back at his successor in office and the immediate past governor of the state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, telling him to “carry his cross” and stop making “careless statements” about others.

Senator Orji popularly known as Ochendo Global, was reacting to a media comment credited to Ikpeazu where the latter described elected leaders who criticise their predecessors in office as “lazy leaders.”

Ikpeazu who spoke at an event in Abuja, was also reported to have said that in 2015 when he took over, he met the state in a gloomy state.

But in a swift response, Senator Orji chided Ikpeazu for saying he met Abia in a gloomy state.

Senator Orji who spoke through his former Liaison Officer and Senior Aide, Hon. Ifeanyi Umere, faulted Ikpeazu for “in one breath, condemning leaders who criticise their predecessors, and in the other breath, criticising his predecessor”.

The former governor told his successor to take responsibility for his actions and inactions while in office, instead of shifting blame to anybody.

He said: “Ikpeazu should once again carry his cross and take responsibility for his actions and inactions instead of looking for who to blame as governance is not necessarily about making speeches.”

  • US embassy announces new visa interview requirements for Nigerian applicants

US embassy announces new visa interview requirements for Nigerian applicants

The United States Embassy has introduced updated visa interview requirements for Nigerian applicants, effective from April 22, 2025.

In a statement released on Friday, the US mission emphasised that all applicants attending visa interviews in Abuja and Lagos must present a DS-160 form featuring a confirmation barcode that begins with “AA” followed by two zeroes (00). Crucially, this barcode must match the one used to book the appointment online.

Applicants with mismatched barcode information will be denied entry to the Consular Section and disqualified from their scheduled interviews.

“Starting April 22, 2025, all visa applicants in Abuja and Lagos must bring a DS-160 visa application form with a confirmation/barcode number (starting with AA and followed by 00 – two zeroes) that matches the one used to make their appointment online. You also must make your appointment in the location you selected when filling out your DS-160,” the statement read.

To avoid issues, applicants are strongly advised to verify that their DS-160 barcode matches their appointment information at least two weeks before their interview date.

The embassy also clarified that DS-160 forms from previous applications cannot be reused. In the event of a mismatch, applicants must log into their AVITS account at least 10 days before the interview and submit a correction request.

“If your DS-160 barcode is incorrect, you must log into your AVITS account at least 10 days before your appointment to create a support ticket requesting correction of your barcode number,” the mission added.

Additionally, appointments must be made at the same location indicated on the DS-160 form. Applicants who are turned away due to mismatched barcodes will need to resolve the issue and reschedule a new appointment. If the visa fee has expired, a new payment may be required.

Since January 1, all applicants have also been required to visit the US Consulate General in Lagos twice as part of the visa application process.
