Ned Nwoko became Senator through Okowa, Oborevwori credibility – Ossai

Delta State Governor Senior Special Assistant On Media Mr. Ossai Ovie Success, has slammed Senator Ned Nwoko over his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Ossai, Senator Nwoko’s claims about Governor Sheriff Oborevwori are false and misleadingOssai stated that Senator Nwoko rode on the coattails of Senator Okowa and Governor Oborevwori to become a senator, but has now turned against them.
He described Senator Nwoko’s actions as ungrateful and deceitful.
Ossai said one of the false claims made by Senator Nwoko, is that Governor Oborevwori refused to fund the Okpai Independent Power Plant (IPP) project. However, Ossai revealed that the project is under federal jurisdiction and has been completed since 2005. The Okpai IPP is a 480-megawatt power plant that was designed to generate power for the national grid.
Ossai also debunked Senator Nwoko’s claim about the inactivity of the Ogwashi-Uku dam, stating that the project is also under federal jurisdiction and has not been handed over to the state government.
He noted that Senator Nwoko had previously announced that the Federal Government would formally hand over the dam to the Delta State government, but this has not yet occurred.
“In contrast to Senator Nwoko’s false claims, Ossai highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s numerous achievements in developing Delta North. These include over 150 ongoing projects, allocation of ₦2 billion for each local government on road infrastructure, and empowerment programs for youths. Some of the specific projects mentioned by Ossai include the construction of the Kwale-Beneku bridge, the rehabilitation of several roads in Asaba, and the completion of the Ugbolu Onwuka road and Ogbotobor Avenue.
“Oborevwori has kept his campaign promises, unlike Senator Nwoko, who has been accused of failing to deliver on his promises to his constituents. He emphasized that Governor Oborevwori’s administration has been transparent and accountable, with a focus on merit-based governance”.Ossai urged Senator Nwoko to focus on lobbying the Federal Government to complete abandoned projects in Delta State rather than spreading falsehoods about the governor.
