Cleric lauds Trump on policy reforms, calls for rethink on Immigration

The Senior Pastor of The Second Coming of Christ’s Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has commended former U.S. President Donald Trump for eliminating what he described as “draconian policies” of past administrations. However, the cleric urged Trump to reconsider his stance on the deportation of illegal immigrants.

Speaking in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Pastor Giwa appealed for compassion regarding immigration policies.

“Let me take this opportunity to appeal to President Trump,” Giwa said. “Please, Mr. President, reconsider your decision to deport illegal immigrants back to their countries.

“I have admired you even before you became President. I am happy that you are a Christian and a child of God.

“In Genesis chapter 1, after God created man, He commanded us to have dominion over the earth. One of the greatest teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ is love. He instructs us to love one another.

“Where is the love Christ asks us to embrace if innocent foreigners, who have worked hard to contribute to America’s growth, are being sent back to their countries?

“God placed you in the White House to bring the American people closer to Him, and you have done well by removing harmful policies from previous administrations. However, God is not pleased with the current immigration stance.

“I lived in the United States for many years before God called me to lead His people in Nigeria. My records are available for verification, and I may choose to visit the country anytime.

“Please heed this advice, Mr. President. God bless America, God bless Nigeria, and God bless all nations.”
